We are Marxists in Your Party who believe the following are issues the new party must include in its programme if it is to be “socialist” in any useful sense of the term. If you agree or are interested, or want further information, please contact us at marxistbulletin@gmail.com.

November 2025

    1. For working-class independence
      – No coalition governments, electoral pacts, or joint political programmes with capitalist parties, including the Greens
      – No police officers, prison guards or Border Force members in the new party or trade unions
      – For international working-class solidarity – workers of the world unite against our common capitalist enemies

    2. Britain out of NATO and out of Ireland
      – Oppose all imperialist and genocidal wars (both direct and proxy wars)
      – For the right of neo-colonies to militarily defend themselves against imperialist attack
      – Close all British military bases abroad – bring home all the troops
      – Support and participate in workers’ actions to stop the movement of weapons and armaments for imperialist and genocidal wars
      – For the defeat of the Zionist genocide in Gaza and for a secular socialist state in Israel/Palestine
      – For an Irish Workers’ Republic on the island of Ireland

    3. For a real “climate emergency”
      – Develop an economy-wide plan that prioritises responding to climate change ahead of considerations of profitability
      – The plan to include a goal of achieving zero carbon emissions by, at the latest, 2040

    4. Defend civil liberties and workers’ rights
      – Revoke and defy all anti-terror, anti-protest and anti-trade union laws
      – The new party to be a tribune of all the oppressed – an injury to one is an injury to all
      – Defend all minorities, women and LGBTQ+ people
      – Defend the right to asylum and full citizenship rights for all immigrants – no deportations
      – For united-front action to directly suppress fascist/ultra-right terror
      – Anti-Zionism is not anti-semitism: stop the witch-hunts and the prosecutions

    5. Build working class organisation
      – Promote working-class self-organisation to strengthen our communities and democratically carry out the class struggle
      – The new party should be a champion of all struggles of working people against capitalism, from campaigns to industrial action, through to running in elections
      – For the new party to embody the norms of workers’ democracy – branch structures, one person one vote, delegated conferences with decisions binding on all elected representatives who should be immediately recallable at all levels

    6. Towards a planned economy under working class control
      – Free quality healthcare – fully fund and re-nationalise all the NHS
      – Reverse the benefit cuts; for massive investment to achieve affordable housing and public transport for all
      – Nationalise all utilities, banks and corporations without compensation (manufacturing, transport, communications, etc.) and put them under democratic working-class control by establishing a new state power based on workers’ councils
